Pregnant belly

Prenatal nutrition

Managing your nutrition during pregnancy can benefit your health, your baby's health, improve both of your nutrition status postpartum and extend to the greater wellbeing of your family. As nutritional needs change during this time and within each trimester, it is ideal to evaluate your needs for weight gain as well as ways to optimize iron, folate, vitamin D, calcium, iodine, and choline.

It is well known that with pregnancy can come many mild to more severe digestive discomforts and challenges, where most of these side effects can actually be improved or resolved with dietary intervention.

If you do have pre-existing conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, PCOS, thyroid dysfunction, anemia or develop any of these conditions during pregnancy, nutritional guidance can offer long term health benefits to both you and baby. Research shows nutrition intervention and oversight can in fact reduce the risks related to birth such as delaying or preventing pre-term labor.
